1. Verify the factory, not just the website

Distinguish manufacturers from trading companies. A manufacturer can show you the machine being built, answer deep technical questions immediately, and customise designs; a trader relays questions and adds margin. Ask for a live video tour of the workshop, the factory address and registration, and references in your region. 2. Understand realistic lead times

Industrial glass machines are built to order, not pulled from a warehouse. Standard machines typically take 40 working days from order confirmation; customised or modified machines around 60 working days. Add sea freight (3–6 weeks depending on destination) to plan your project timeline. Be wary of quotes promising dramatically faster delivery — it usually means an unsold machine built to no one’s specification.

3. Get the warranty terms in writing

A serious manufacturer stands behind the machine. Our standard terms, for reference: 1 year full machine warranty and 3 years on main components, including maintenance support, spare parts, and free technical training — identical terms for standard and custom machines. 4. Check what the price includes

Compare quotes line by line: spare parts kit included or extra? Tooling and moulds for your specific products? Training (on-site, video, or at the factory)? Installation guidance? Sea-worthy packaging? A lower headline price often becomes a higher landed cost once these are added.

5. Confirm utilities and site requirements early

Most glass forming, sealing, and cutting machines need fuel gas plus oxygen; electric melting furnaces and some dry-cutting machines run without gas. Confirm power specifications (voltage/frequency for your country), gas consumption, compressed air, and floor loading — cast iron machines are heavy by design, since mass absorbs vibration and keeps long-run precision stable. Your supplier should provide a site preparation document before the machine ships.

6. Customisation: the real advantage of buying direct

The strongest reason to buy factory-direct is engineering flexibility. Need a non-standard diameter range, an extra station, or a machine adapted to your exact product? A manufacturer can modify the design — a trader cannot. Describe your product (drawings, dimensions, sample photos) and ask for a technical proposal, not just a price. 7. Acceptance testing before shipment

Insist on seeing your machine run your product before it ships. Video acceptance testing — the machine producing your glassware on a live call, at full speed — is standard practice for reputable factories and your single best protection as a remote buyer.
